Hanifa Adan Lands New Radio Job

Kenyan journalist and activist Hanifa Farsafi Aden has landed a new role in broadcast media after joining Radio Generation Kenya as a host.

Hanifa will host the 7 PM to 10 PM segment every Monday on The Generation Report, where she will co-present alongside Triciah Wayua.

She announced the move through her social media pages, confirming her transition into radio and inviting audiences to tune in to the weekly programme.

“Hello guys, some personal news. I’ve joined Radio Generation as a host for the 7–10 PM segment every Monday. Join us on The Generation Report as we bring you fresh, unbiased news. Follow Radio Generation to keep up with this new journey,” she posted.

Radio Generation Kenya also confirmed her appointment, describing her as a fresh addition to the show’s lineup.

“A fresh voice stepping into The Generation Report, Hanifa is bringing clear perspective, real conversations, and a sharp take on the stories shaping your week. Tune in every Monday, 7 PM to 10 PM,” the station stated.

The Generation Report is a current affairs programme focusing on issues affecting young people, public discourse, and emerging national conversations. Her addition places her among a growing number of presenters shaping youth-focused media content in Kenya.

Hanifa rose to prominence in 2022 through civic advocacy campaigns highlighting infrastructural challenges in Nairobi, particularly within informal settlements. Her online activism drew widespread attention to service delivery concerns and governance issues.

She gained further national recognition in 2024 during youth-led protests against the Finance Bill, where she actively mobilised support, shared information, and participated in civic engagement initiatives.

Professionally, Hanifa has built her career in journalism and commentary. She has contributed to The Eastleigh Voice, covering socio-political developments, community issues, and public interest stories.

She also serves as a columnist for Nation Media Group, where she writes opinion pieces on national issues, youth engagement, and governance, contributing to broader public discourse.

Her appointment reflects a growing trend of Kenyan media personalities transitioning across platforms, blending journalism, commentary, and broadcast presentation within the country’s evolving media landscape.
