The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened applications for medical courses at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), giving students a second chance to secure placement for the 2026 intake.
In a notice issued on Sunday, March 29, KUCCPS announced that 21 courses are available during the revision window, targeting applicants who missed out in the initial placement.
According to the agency, the move is aimed at accommodating candidates who were unsuccessful in earlier rounds. This follows a previous reopening on March 3, when 31 KMTC courses were made available to students who scored grades C and D in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
The latest window is open to Form Four leavers from 2000 to 2025, expanding eligibility to include both recent and past candidates. KUCCPS urged those who have not secured placement to reapply and compete for available slots in medical training programmes across the country.
Applicants have been directed to submit their applications through the KUCCPS student portal before April 3, 2026.
Among the diploma courses available are Health Records and Information Technology, Radiography and Imaging, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Orthopaedic Technology, Physiotherapy, Medical Engineering, Medical Social Work, Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Community Health, Mortuary Science, and Health Promotion.
Certificate programmes include Health Records and Information Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Medical Engineering, Orthopedic Trauma Medicine, Public Health, Community Health Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, and Health Insurance Management.
To apply, candidates are required to visit the KUCCPS website, access the student portal, log in, select KMTC programmes, and follow the application instructions provided.
