Naiyanoi Ntutu, widow of the late former Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng'eno, has been appointed to the board of the Information and Communications Technology Authority (ICTA).

In a gazette notice dated Thursday, April 2, ICT and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo announced that Ntutu will serve as a board member for a period of three years, effective April 2, 2026.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 6 (2) (e) of the Information and Communications Technology Authority Order, 2013, the Cabinet Secretary appoints Naiyanoi Ntutu to be a member of the Board of the Information and Communications Technology Authority for a period of three years,” the notice read in part.

Her appointment was welcomed by ICTA leadership, with board chairperson Lily Kirui expressing confidence in her ability to contribute to the authority’s work.

“Welcome to the ICTA Board, Mrs Naiyanoi Ntutu Ng’eno. I look forward to working closely with you. I have no doubt in your abilities and the contribution you will make to the team,” Kirui said.

Ntutu’s appointment comes barely a month after she delivered an emotional tribute to her late husband during a memorial service for victims of the Nandi helicopter crash that claimed his life alongside five others.

Speaking on March 4, she described Ng’eno as a supportive partner and pillar in her life, recalling their journey together as a young couple building a family.

“You were the love of my early days, when everything was still soft and full of possibilities. We were young, learning life together, and somehow you made it feel less frightening and more beautiful,” she said.

She remembered his laughter, saying it brightened even the most ordinary days, and praised him as a devoted father who took pride in their two children.

“The way you loved your children, you adored them. You held them with pride and looked at them like they were your greatest achievement,” she added.

Ntutu said his death left a deep void in her life, likening the loss to losing the joy and simplicity of youth, but maintained that their bond would endure beyond death.

“Death cannot take what we built. It cannot take away the love, the family and the memories we created. You will always be my Joha,” she said.

Ng’eno and Ntutu got married in 2018 and were blessed with two children.
