President William Ruto’s planned tour of counties in the Abagusii region has been postponed by one week.
South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro, in a statement issued on Wednesday, March twenty five, said the visit had been rescheduled due to a clash with the Head of State’s official duties.
“Owing to the collision of other official duties, we wish to inform you that the planned visit to Gusii by H.E the President has been moved forward by a week,” part of the statement read.
Osoro apologised for any inconvenience caused, adding that a revised itinerary would be shared on March twenty six.
The President had been scheduled for a three-day tour of the region from March twenty nine to March thirty, with visits planned in Kisii and Nyamira counties.
According to Osoro, William Ruto was expected to launch several development projects, including the upgrade of Gusii Stadium, the rollout of affordable housing units, and last-mile electricity connectivity.
He was also set to hand over a new modern bus to Shabana Football Club and commission a number of road projects during the visit.
The MP had been mobilising support ahead of the tour alongside Kisii Governor Simba Arati as preparations to host the President intensified.

Arati is among the leaders allied to the Orange Democratic Movement faction that has declared support for Ruto’s re-election bid in the August twenty twenty seven General Election.
The postponement comes shortly after William Ruto concluded a tour of the Nyanza region and returned to Nairobi for official engagements.
At State House, Nairobi, the President hosted Chinese Vice President Han Zheng for talks aimed at expanding trade and infrastructure cooperation.
He also received Mozambique President Daniel Francisco Chapo, who is on a three-day official visit to Kenya, with bilateral discussions expected to strengthen ties between the two countries.
