Socialite and entrepreneur Corazon Kwamboka has declared her intention to contest the Nairobi Woman Representative seat in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Alex Mwakideu, Corazon openly shared her political ambitions.
“I should just be the representative of women in Nairobi,” she said.
Mwakideu welcomed the announcement, urging her to go for it.
“Corazon Kwamboka, why not? 2027, why not?” he posed.
The businesswoman said her decision is driven by her personal journey as a self-made woman who has faced life’s challenges head-on without external support.
“As a woman, a single mom raising two kids, running a business, dealing with real issues, and getting to where I am without anybody’s help, I truly understand the struggle that women go through,” she explained.
Corazon argued that individuals with lived experiences should be involved in shaping policies that directly affect women, rather than leaving the space to career politicians.
“I feel like people like me need to be part of the conversation,” she added.
In what appeared to be a subtle criticism of current office holders, she faulted leaders who only speak out when social issues gain traction online.
“Let it not be when there’s something trending or end femicide, that’s when we see our women representatives coming out to speak,” she said, suggesting her leadership would be more consistent and proactive.
Her entry into the race adds to a growing list of public figures from outside mainstream politics seeking elective positions ahead of the 2027 General Election.
