Two government agencies, the Information and Communications Technology Authority (ICT) and the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), have opened high-level job opportunities, inviting qualified Kenyans to apply.

In a notice advertised on Tuesday, ICT Authority, a state corporation under the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology, is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the statutory body responsible for managing and regulating ICT development in Kenya.

The CEO will oversee the Authority’s mandate, which includes setting and enforcing ICT standards in government, promoting e-government services, enhancing digital literacy, and supporting local innovation in ICT solutions.

“The CEO will provide strategic leadership to ensure that ICTA achieves its objectives in line with its Strategic Plan and Government policy,” the notice reads.

“We are looking for a highly motivated professional who can drive ICTA’s initiatives, manage resources efficiently, and strengthen partnerships across government and private sectors.”

Applicants must have at least 15 years of experience, including nine in senior management roles, and hold both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in relevant fields such as ICT, finance, law, or business.

Candidates must also comply with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, submitting certificates from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and a credit reference report from a recognized bureau.

The CEO position is offered on a three-year contract, renewable once and interested candidates should submit applications to ceorecruitment@icta.go.ke by Friday, September 26, 2025.

Meanwhile, NITA, established under the Industrial Training Act of 2011, is seeking to fill the position of Director General.

The Authority’s mandate is to promote high standards in industrial training across Kenya and ensure a steady supply of adequately trained manpower at all levels of industry.

“The Director General will provide leadership in the implementation of NITA’s strategic objectives and oversee the delivery of efficient industrial training programs nationwide,” NITA stated in its advertisement.

“We are committed to recruiting a leader with extensive experience who can drive innovation and excellence in Kenya’s industrial training sector.”

Candidates must meet similar constitutional requirements as ICTA’s CEO, including clearance certificates from the DCI, KRA, HELB, EACC, and CRB, and must demonstrate leadership experience and relevant academic qualifications.

The Director General post is a five-year contract, renewable once, and applications must reach NITA headquarters or be sent via recruitment25dg@nita.go.ke by September 30, 2025.

Both agencies emphasized equal opportunity in recruitment, encouraging women, youth, and persons with disabilities to apply. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
