Kenyan content creators have earned more than USD 350,000 (approximately KSh44.9 million) in just one year through TikTok collaborations with local businesses.

The milestone coincides with the one-year anniversary of TikTok for Business in Kenya, a period marked by strong advertiser adoption, creator partnerships, and measurable commercial results.

Since its launch last year, TikTok for Business has partnered with Aleph Holdings to strengthen local operations and with Wowzi to manage creator collaborations.

These partnerships have allowed brands to access advertising expertise, sales support, and creator management services, enabling them to fully leverage TikTok’s platform.

Through the collaboration with Wowzi alone, over 200 Kenyan creators earned the reported sum, highlighting the growing commercial opportunities for local talent.

Several brands have stood out in their first year on the platform. Branch MFB, a regulated microfinance bank, used TikTok’s performance-driven campaign strategies to significantly exceed its acquisition targets while maintaining cost efficiency. E-commerce platform Kilimall leveraged TikTok’s Smart+ automation and Branded Spark Ads to generate over 152,000 purchases, achieving a sixfold increase in sales compared to Q2.

In the consumer goods sector, Godrej Aer used TikTok-first creative storytelling and targeted creator campaigns to deliver over 10 million video views, double month-on-month sales, and maintain a 33 per cent market share for three months.

These successes reflect a wider trend among Kenyan advertisers, who are increasingly using TikTok’s full-funnel solutions, automation tools, and creative formats to engage mobile-first audiences and drive business impact.

The platform’s achievements were recognized at the TikTok Ad Awards for the METAP region (Middle East, Turkey, Africa, and Pakistan), where Kenya’s SKYTok community awareness campaign by SKY Girls Kenya won a Bronze award in the Community Core category, highlighting authentic collaborations with creators.

Speaking on the milestone, Jochen Bischoff, Head of Global Business Solutions, Africa at TikTok, said:

“In just one year, we’ve seen Kenyan businesses unlock the true power of creativity and performance on TikTok. These early achievements are only the beginning, and we anticipate even more innovation and commercial impact in the year ahead.”

Jesudetan Onasanya, Regional Partner Director at Aleph Holdings, Sub-Saharan Africa, added:

“Our partnership with TikTok has accelerated the growth of Kenya’s digital advertising ecosystem. Brands are embracing new levels of creativity, performance, and innovation, and the results speak for themselves.”

Mike Otieno, Co-founder and President of Wowzi, highlighted the role of creators in driving commercial success:

“Talented creators have become one of the strongest drivers of brand growth on TikTok in Kenya. By connecting brands with the right creative voices, authentic storytelling translates into real business results.”

TikTok for Business continues to expand in Kenya, supporting brands, agencies, and creators with tools, insights, and expertise to thrive in a digital-first market while fueling a growing creator economy.
