Ruto appoints Mbadi Chair of National Infrastructure Fund Governing Council

President William Samoei Ruto has named John Mbadi Ng’ongo as the Chairperson of the Governing Council of the National Infrastructure Fund. The appointment was announced in a gazette notice dated March 30, 2026.
Alongside Mbadi, the Head of State also appointed Prof. Benedict Okey Oramah, Faith Boinnet, Paul Russo, and Richard Etemesi as members of the council. They will serve for a three-year term.
The notice stated: “In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 as read with section 7 (1) (d) of the National Infrastructure Fund Act, 2026, I appoint… to be Members of the Governing Council of the National Infrastructure Fund, for a term of three (3) years.”
This move establishes the leadership team that will oversee the operations and strategic direction of the newly established National Infrastructure Fund.
