Ruto makes fresh appointments to state corporations and boards

President William Ruto and several Cabinet Secretaries have effected changes across key government institutions through a series of appointments and reappointments published in the latest Gazette notices.
In a notice dated January 30, President Ruto reappointed Ahmed Abdi Rashid, Mary Murangi Mugo, Claire Sifuna Wanyama and Caroline Cherono Kilisha as members of the State Corporations Advisory Committee. The four will serve for another three-year term, effective February 4.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen appointed Benjamin Kiprono Kuttoh as a member of the Board of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA). Murkomen said Kuttoh’s three-year term took effect on January 30.
Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya named Isaac Njoroge, Hosea Abinya, Esther Wambui, Nelson Wekulo, Ashford Miriti, Joseph Kithome, Rebecca Morogo and Rehema Athman to the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans. Their appointments will run for one year starting April 2.
Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi reappointed Anne Rimbaine Lengerded and Joseph Kipkemboi Ngetich to the Board of Directors of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation for a further three-year term, effective January 30. Mbadi also appointed James Agembe Akali as a member of the Board of the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority for three years.
Co-operatives and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya appointed George Kingori Gathogo to the Board of the Financial Inclusion Fund for a three-year term.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba made several appointments in the higher education sector. He appointed Kenneth Maena to the Council of Tom Mboya University and Joseph Tuikong Rotich to the Council of Koitalel Samoei University College, both for three years. Ronald Leposo Musengi, Jacob Wangai Gitau and Joseph Omanya Nyotumba were appointed to the Council of Eldoret National Polytechnic for a similar term.
Ogamba also appointed Allan Mugambu Michael to the Council of Murang’a University of Technology and Joseph Tuikong to the Council of the Open University of Kenya. At the same time, he revoked the appointments of Stella Oyiego and Hamadi Musa Garashi as members of Machakos University.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale appointed Patrisio Njiru Njeru as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya National Public Health Institute for a three-year term.
The changes form part of ongoing adjustments within State corporations, boards and councils across government ministries.
