At least two people, including a Kenyan officer and a civilian, were killed in a road accident.
The accident involved two Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) vehicles in Haiti on Sunday, August 31.
The crash occurred in Pèlerin 9, Pétion-Ville, during a recovery operation when one of the MaxxPro armoured vehicles towing another lost control and hit a wall, causing the second vehicle to overturn.
MSS spokesperson Jack Ombaka confirmed the fatalities and said eight other officers were injured.
“We deeply regret the death of one of our Kenyan officers and a civilian.
"Several of our personnel sustained injuries, three of them seriously and will be evacuated to the Dominican Republic for specialized treatment,” Ombaka said.
Those less critically injured are receiving care in local medical facilities.
The spokesperson added that an internal inquiry has been launched to establish the circumstances of the accident.
The MSS, which includes Kenyan troops, was deployed earlier this year to support Haitian authorities in restoring order amid rising gang violence.
