What began as a promising week after an epic Sunday, highlighted by President Ruto's promise of a Sh20 million contribution, turned into a difficult one for Edward Mwai, the founder of Jesus Winner Ministry.
He revealed that he has been getting abusive phone calls from Kenyans after President William Ruto promised a Ksh.120 million donation to his church.
On Sunday, President Ruto pledged to personally donate Ksh.20 million and subsequently contribute Ksh. 100 million through a harambee.
This ignited public outrage, questioning why the President would make such a large donation when, not long ago, he promised to adhere to calls for austerity during the Gen Z demonstrations, where he stated he would ban harambees for state officers.
Kenyans, angered by the situation, have vowed to protest at the mentioned church on Sunday, March 9th, with the hashtag #OccupyJesusWinner leading the movement.

Mwai disclosed that he and his wife have been receiving threatening messages, prompting him to purchase new mobile lines, even though they have not received any money from the Head of State.
"I have received more than 5,000 abusive messages and cannot make calls," he told Daily Nation adding he has sunk in panic and paranoia.
"For the record, President Ruto never left any money behind. I consider what he promised like any other pledge when you are left chasing after it to be fulfilled," he added.
"The service was live and I challenge you to review the footage and show me where my team or board member is receiving the donation."
On the specified Sunday, the president brought a collection of gifts, including a land donation to the church from the Kenya Defence Forces.
"Since I am the Commander-in-Chief, I told KDF that this land is a holy place, and the church will be built there. I will personally join hands with you to make it happen..."
