The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has announced a nationwide recruitment exercise scheduled for October, targeting various categories of officers and service members.
In a notice issued on Sunday, KDF said the exercise will cover General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets; both Regular and Graduate Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen and women, as well as Defence Forces Constables.
The Ministry of Defence clarified that the recruitment process is free of charge and open to all qualified candidates, cautioning the public against attempts to influence the process through bribery or corruption.
“Any individual found to be involved in recruitment-related malpractice will be arrested and prosecuted,” the ministry stated.
They further urged Kenyans to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station, military camp, or via hotline numbers 0726419706 and 0726419709.
Successful applicants will undergo verification and training at designated KDF institutions. Minimum qualifications have also been outlined, including a KCSE grade of B (Plain) with at least a C+ in English, Mathematics, and one science subject for GSO Cadets (Regular).
Graduate cadet applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

The announcement comes just days after the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) warned the public against a fake recruitment notice circulating on social media, in a statement on September 9.
NPSC dismissed the viral advert as fraudulent, warning that it was designed to mislead unsuspecting Kenyans.
“The Commission wishes to advise the public to disregard this misinformation and clarify that any official communication on recruitment will only be issued through established channels, namely the Commission’s official website, mainstream media, and verified social media platforms,” the statement read.
NPSC further assured that preparations for an official police recruitment drive are underway and updates will be communicated in due course.
