Nairobi, Kenya — The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has dismissed claims alleging that Raphael Tuju owes outstanding tax debt, reaffirming that he is a compliant and valued taxpayer.
In a statement addressing the reports, KRA clarified that its records indicate Tuju has met his tax obligations in accordance with the law. The authority emphasized that it maintains strict confidentiality regarding individual taxpayer affairs but moved to correct what it termed as misleading public claims.
“KRA wishes to confirm that Mr. Raphael Tuju is a compliant taxpayer and continues to be a valued client of the Authority,” the statement read.
The agency further reiterated its commitment to upholding integrity, fairness, and transparency in tax administration, noting that all taxpayers are treated equally under the law.
“KRA remains committed to enforcing tax compliance while safeguarding taxpayer information and addressing any inaccuracies that may arise in public discourse,” the Authority added.
The clarification comes amid heightened public scrutiny over tax compliance among prominent individuals, with KRA urging the public and media to rely on verified information.
