President William Ruto has appointed Amani Yuda Komora as the new Chairperson of the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), handing him a six-year term at the helm of the body tasked with overseeing police welfare and accountability.
“I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Amani Yuda Komora to be the Chairperson of the National Police Service Commission, for a term of six (6) years,” reads a Gazette Notice dated August 22, 2025.
Komora takes over leadership of the commission at a time when the NPSC faces mounting pressure to strengthen reforms in the National Police Service. His appointment follows successful vetting and recommendation by a Selection Panel established to recruit nominees, as earlier published under Gazette Notice No. 1181.

Ruto also named Angeline Yiamiton Siparo as a member of the commission.
“I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Angeline Yiamiton Siparo to be a Member of the National Police Service Commission, for a term of six (6) years.”
Komora previously served as Vice-Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) and held senior roles at the Kenya Ports Authority, Kenya Revenue Authority, and the National General Wages Council.
Siparo has served as Chairperson of the National Aids Control Council, led the YALI Legacy Localisation Project across 49 countries, and worked with several global organisations including UNAIDS, PRB, and Family Health International.
The NPSC is mandated to manage recruitment, transfers, promotions, and discipline within the National Police Service.
