TSC Announces 21,313 Vacancies for Senior Teachers and Principals

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has advertised that they have officially opened recruitment for 21,313 vacancies aimed at filling senior teaching and leadership roles in schools across the country to strengthen the education sector by addressing staffing gaps.

“These vacancies offer a wide range of opportunities for qualified educators to grow professionally and contribute meaningfully to curriculum leadership and school management,” TSC stated in the advert.

The bulk of the positions include 4,683 Senior Teacher II posts and 3,244 Senior Teacher I roles. Additionally, the Commission is recruiting 3,547 Head of Department-Teacher positions to manage key subject areas in schools.

Leadership roles are also available, with 490 Senior Principal and 490 Principal posts, alongside Deputy Head-Teacher positions.

“Filling these leadership roles is vital to improving school management and ensuring quality education delivery,” the Commission added.

Applicants are required to submit their applications online through the official TSC portal at http://teachersonline.go.ke.

The deadline for submissions is August 25, 2025, at midnight.

“No manual applications will be accepted. The online system ensures a transparent, efficient and centralized recruitment process,” TSC emphasized.

This recruitment exercise is free of charge. We caution applicants against fraudsters who may try to solicit money under the guise of assisting with the process. Any such cases should be reported immediately to the nearest TSC office or police station.”

The Commission also encouraged qualified persons with disabilities to apply, underscoring its commitment to equal opportunity and inclusion.

“Successful candidates will be deployed to schools with existing vacancies to improve teacher-to-student ratios and enhance the quality of education nationwide,” TSC said.
