The National Police Service Commission (NPSC), in collaboration with the Inspector-General of Police, has announced a nationwide recruitment drive for police constables.

The exercise will take place on October 1, 2025, across designated county recruitment centres.

In its notice, the commission outlined strict requirements for applicants, who must be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28 years.

Candidates are expected to hold a valid national identity card, have a KCSE mean grade of D+ with at least a D+ in English or Kiswahili, be medically and physically fit and have no criminal record. Male applicants must have a minimum height of 5 feet 8 inches, while females must be at least 5 feet 3 inches tall.

“Female candidates must not to be pregnant at the time of recruitment and throughout the training period,” NPSC stated.

NPSC stressed that the recruitment will be conducted transparently and without charge.

“The recruitment process is absolutely free of charge. Any person who attempts to offer a bribe or interfere with the exercise will be arrested and prosecuted,” the commission stated.

Application forms can be downloaded from the official websites of NPSC, the Administration Police, the National Police Service, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Kenya Wildlife Service, and MyGov.

Forms are also available at Huduma Centres countrywide. Candidates must present original and photocopies of their national ID, KCSE certificates, testimonials, birth certificate, and where applicable, an NYS discharge certificate rated “GOOD.” All original documents will be returned to applicants after verification.

The commission also issued a warning to prospective candidates.

“Presenting fake or falsified documents will not only disqualify an applicant but will lead to immediate arrest and prosecution,” NPSC warned.

The recruitment will run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at centres including Baringo County Commissioner’s Office in Barwesa, Busia Municipal Stadium, Embu’s Moi Municipal Stadium, Homa Bay Police Division, and Kisii Town DCC’s Office, among others.
