Planned Power Maintenance to Affect Multiple Counties Across Kenya on March 31

Power users in several regions across the country are expected to experience temporary electricity interruptions on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, as the Kenya Power and Lighting Company carries out planned maintenance works.
The exercise is intended to reinforce the power distribution system, enhance service efficiency, and support ongoing infrastructure upgrades. Although the outages may cause brief disruptions, they are necessary to ensure a more stable and reliable electricity supply in the future.
The scheduled interruptions will largely take place between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, depending on the location. On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in Meru County, areas such as Gitimbene and Kariene will be affected, including Gatimbi, Cottolengo, Kaguma, Cum Supreme, Nkabune Technical, Gikumene Girls, Nkando, Gutuune, Black Africa, and Ruiga Health Center.
In Nyeri County, outages will affect Ark Lodge, Amboni, and Bondeni areas, including Ark Lodge, Bondeni, Kiguru Primary School, Amboni, Amboni Secondary School, Ruiru and Murungaru Residence, as well as Kariko, Gichami, and Mucharage areas covering Kinu, Mucharage Girls, Kiandumba, Kariko Market, Matiriongo, Kariko, Gichami Primary School, Booster, and Kiganjo TBC.
In Embu County, areas such as Machang’a, Iramurai, Mbondoni, and Makima will be affected, including Thiba Farm, Jaganathi Farm, Kanyonga, Ngecha, Makima, Kamwea, Mbondoni Market, Safaricom, Unguni, Kathuyani, Ndunguni, Mwanyani, Urua, Mburatani, Kitololoni, Mwanjo, Ndune, and Mulukusi.
In Nairobi County, parts of Parklands will be affected, including 4th and 5th Parklands, Wangapala Road, Masari Road, Diamond 1 & 2, Sky Mall, parts of Kusi Lane, Presidential Escort, Highridge KPLC Quarters, and Ismailia.
In Nakuru County, Gilgil and Diatomite areas will be affected, including Diatomite Limited, Kasambara, Epashikino, Seville, Pelican, Kasarani, St. Mary’s, St. Joseph, Serena Hotel, parts of Soyasambu, Kasambara, Echareria, Lemon Valley, Elementaita Mountain View, and Sogonoi.
In Kiambu County, parts of Limuru Town will be affected, including Equity Bank Limuru, Silver Spoon Factory, Manguo Secondary School, Ngarariga, Nyambare, and Murengeri.
In Mombasa County, parts of Likoni, including Mrima Primary and Pungu Villa, will be affected, covering areas such as Mrima Primary School, Mt. Sinai Primary School, Pentagon, Likoni Water, Approved, Tonge Nyama, Kwa Nziwe, Mwananguvuze, Ujamaa, Shika Adabu, Kibaki Estate, Mwanamanziya, Vijijweni Kwa DC, Nyumba ya Meli, Vyemani, Inspiration, and Pungu Slaughter.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to plan to minimize inconvenience during the maintenance period.
