National Police Service (NPS) has seized and destroyed more than 2,000 litres of kangara and chang’aa in Zimmerman, Kasarani.
This was during a major operation targeting illicit brew manufacturing dens in Nairobi, on August 11, 2025.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the NPS to combat the manufacture, distribution, and consumption of illegal brews, which have been linked to serious health risks and social problems in communities.
“The operation continues, with the aim of pursuing and apprehending the manufacturers and distributors of the illicit brew,” NPS stated on X.
The police assured the public that more arrests are expected as the crackdown intensifies.
“We urge the public to support security operations by providing timely information through the nearest police station or via the toll-free numbers: 999, 911, 112, Fichua Kwa DCI: 0800 722 203 or WhatsApp: 0709 570 000,” NPS noted.
The NPS reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public health and safety by intensifying operations against illegal alcohol production across Nairobi and beyond.
