Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced a scheduled power outage on March 18 in several areas as part of routine maintenance and system upgrades. The planned outage is to allow KPLC to carry out necessary repairs, replacements, and maintenance work on the electrical grid. These efforts are aimed at improving the reliability and quality of power supply in the future.

The country's main power supplier, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), has announced power cuts scheduled for Thursday, March 12. In a statement shared on X, the company noted that the power interruptions are to allow maintenance, upgrading of existing power lines, and facilitating new connections to customers.

Customers across Nairobi, Machakos, North Rift, Western, South Nyanza, Mt. Kenya, Isiolo, Kirinyaga and the Coast region will be affected at different times during the day.

“The maintenance exercise is aimed at strengthening our distribution network to ensure a more stable and reliable supply of electricity,” the company said in a statement.
